Prof. Agnieszka Nogal Honorary Doctor of the University of Georgia

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Agnieszka Nogal from the Faculty of Philosophy, in recognition of her outstanding scientific achievements and services related to the implementation of joint research and educational programs, has been awarded the honorary title of doctor honoris causa by Shota Meskhia Zugdidi State University in Georgia. Congratulations!

The title of doctor honoris causa is the highest honor awarded by this University. Prof. Nogal received the honorary degree at a ceremony held on September 16 in Zugdidi, Georgia. Below is a photo of the diploma.

Dr. Hab. Agnieszka Nogal is an associate professor at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw and the head of the Department of Political Philosophy. Her research interests include: political culture, human rights, feminism, and biopolitics. She has been involved in research related to the concept of human rights since 1994. She is the author of books and articles on the implementation of human rights, the relationship between international and national law (e.g. the book “Human and Citizen Rights in a Globalized World”, 2016) and the importance of political culture. She is one of the founders and co-editor of the journal “Civitas. Studies in Political Philosophy”. For many years she has been managing various research projects, in recent years including the project: “Democratic State of Law and the Challenges Related to COVID-19”. For years she has been cooperating with Georgian institutions as part of many projects. Recently, she participated as a keynote speaker at the Fall School organized in Georgia under the slogan “Constitution and the Crisis of the Constitution”, which took place on September 13-18, 2024.
