Our student is the winner of Brave Camp
Ms. Weronika Bagniewska, a cognitive science student from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw, took first place and received the audience award at this year’s Brave Camp (Entrepreneurship Academy) – a competition organized by the UW Incubator. Our student received PLN 8,000 to develop research on an educational application using artificial intelligence and create its prototype in order to obtain further grants.
Ms. Weronika Bagniewska, a third-year student of BA studies in cognitive science, proposed an educational app called ESI. It supports the user in learning the material they choose. In this app, the user creates a note on the topic they need to learn. Then, at the best time intervals (determined by the space repetition algorithm), they receive a notification about a quiz generated by AI based on the note. For completing the quiz, the user receives points for which they build ESI robot. In this way, the user is motivated to study systematically, remembers more and eliminates procrastination, which has a positive effect on his well-being.
The application is intended mainly for students using tablets who study humanities, social sciences and biology.
In addition to Ms. Weronika, two other cognitive science students from the University of Warsaw took part in the 12th edition of Brave Camp – Ms. Angelika Kielak and Ms. Monika Ogrodnik. All three participants presented ideas related to cognitive science. Ms. Weronika and Ms. Angelika combined this discipline with the implementation of AI in educational aids. Ms. Monika, MA student of cognitive science, focused on adapting conference spaces to neuroatypical people. What is more, regardless of the competition, Ms. Angelika received offers of help from investors and people involved in the development of innovations.
We sincerely congratulate all three ladies on their great ideas, thank you for representing cognitive science at this important event and wish you continued success!
