20.02.2020 NCN MAESTRO grant for Prof. Cezary Cieśliński

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Cezary Cieśliński is one of the winners of the prestigious MAESTRO 11 programme of the National Science Centre. The project “Epistemiczne i semantyczne zobowiązania fundamentalnych teorii matematycznych” received funding in the amount of PLN 2,413,800. In this year’s edition of the prestigious QS World University Ranking, the University of Warsaw is ranked among 150 universities in the world where philosophy studies are conducted at the highest level!

We are pleased to inform you that the winning projects in the NCN OPUS 18, SONATA 15, PRELUDIUM 18 programmes include projects that will be implemented at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw:

(1) Dr. hab. Justyna Grudzińska-Zawadowska – “W stronę kognitywnie wiarygodnego, kompozycyjnego modelu kwantyfikacji w języku naturalnym” (OPUS)

(2) Dr. Aleksandra Mroczko-Wąsowicz – “Przedmioty percepcji w ujęciu jedno- i wielomodalnym” (OPUS)

(3) Dr. Mateusz Łełyk – “Prawda: pomiędzy dyskwotacją i kompozycyjnością”, (SONATA)

(4) Mgr. Jakub Rudnicki – “Semantyka bez intencji: wyrażenia demonstratywne, wspólne nazwy własne oraz istotność kontekstowa” (PRELUDIUM)

18.06.2020 Minister’s scholarships for outstanding young researchers 2020

On June 17, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education announced the list of winners of the Minister’s scholarship. Scholarships were awarded to 13 researchers from the University of Warsaw: 6 scientists with doctoral degrees and 7 doctoral students. The winners from the University of Warsaw represent a variety of scientific disciplines: history, archeology, philosophy, psychology, cultural and religious studies, physical sciences, chemical sciences and computer science. In total, the Minister awarded scholarships to 200 young scientists, including 53 doctoral students. The winners of the Minister’s scholarship include:

We would like to kindly inform you that on July 17, 2020, the National Science Centre published the ranking lists of the ETIUDA 8 programme on its website. We are pleased to announce that among the winning projects in the NCN ETIUDA 8 competition is a project that will be carried out at the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw: Mgr. Agata Zuzanna Kowalewska – “Przyroda w polskich sztukach wizualnych w latach 2000-2020 – analiza filozoficzna.”
