World Logic Day at our Faculty (January 14, 2025)
A conference on the outstanding logician Stanisław Leśniewski, an exhibition on the ethicist-logician Klemens Szaniawski (on the 100th anniversary of his birth), Logical Afternoon with our lecturers, and Logical Washing. The program for World Logic Day (January 14) at our faculty is quite rich. Feel invited. Details below.
The international symposium “Leśniewski: Logic and Ontology” will be held on-site in room 102 at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw and online throughout the day. It is organized by Prof. Anna Brożek, head of the Center for Research on the Tradition of the Lvov-Warsaw School of the University of Warsaw, and Prof. Kordula Świętorzecka, head of the Department of Logic at the Institute of Philosophy of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. Details about the conference and the link to the online meeting are available at: https://sites.google.com/uw.edu.pl/wld2025/
From January 14, you will also be able to see an exhibition about the ethicist and logician, long-time lecturer and dean of our faculty, prof. Klemens Szaniawski, prepared by prof. Anna Brożek. The exhibition will be available in the corridor leading to the Library Reading Room on the first floor of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw.
In addition, at 3 p.m. the Logical Afternoon will begin, organized mainly for our students and PhD students, but everyone interested is invited. As part of this afternoon, we will review selected logical research by our lecturers in the form of express presentations. Then there will be a mini lecture by Dr. Michał Wrocławski. All this with cookies, in the pleasant atmosphere of the Reading Room of the Kazimierz Twardowski Library at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Warsaw.
Finally, from January 14th, our faculty building will be drying… logical laundry. What is it? Come and see for yourself!
